Maude Sabourin
A native of Terrebonne, Maude began her career in a small neighbourhood school at the age of 3. At the age of 12, she joined the École supérieure de ballet du Québec after being recruited in a regional dance competition. She joined the ESBQ's young company, Jeune Ballet du Québec, at the age of 15. She then had the chance to begin dancing on the international scene, and to work with numerous choreographers.
In 2006, Maude joined the prestigious company Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, directed by renowned choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot. In 2012, she was named soloist, before becoming principal dancer in 2014. Over the years, Maude has worked with some of today's most influential choreographers, including Jiri Kylian, Marco Goecke, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and William Forsythe, to name but a few. She travels the world dancing in some of the world's most prestigious theaters.
In 2018, Maude decided to return to her native country and joined the company of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. She also takes part in several external projects, such as the Spoleto Festival in Italy, which has welcomed artists from all over the world for 66 years, or the prestigious Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where she has been invited as ballet mistress. In 2019, she is guest artist at the Opera d'Avignon in a work created for her. She frequently participates in the Soirée des étoiles at the Festival des arts de St-Sauveur under the direction of Guillaume Côté, and also collaborated with Guillaume Côté on NARAKA, a pas de deux choreographed for Télé-Québec's “Danse en trois temps”, broadcast during the pandemic.

Internationally recognized for her art, Maude Sabourin has received numerous awards for her performances in numerous dance magazines.
Also artistic director of “The Dance Lab”, she gets involved in her community by creating mobile workshops and master classes. During the pandemic, Maude launched an online training platform, “The Ballet Cure”, which enables people to move at home, inspired by the movements ballerinas do every day.
As a philanthropist, she chooses causes that are close to her heart. In June 2023, “The Dance Lab” was in Istanbul, with all proceeds going to an association helping victims of the recent earthquake in Turkey. She also puts her talent and notoriety at the service of women's causes, actively supporting the Regroupement des maisons pour femmes victimes de violence conjugale, a philanthropic initiative that reflects her deep compassion and desire to inspire change.
