Bolero X: the new generation of dancers powered by Ballet BC
We are delighted to announce the participation of 9 students from l'École supérieure de ballet du Québec in BOLERO X. Taking part in Ballet BC's triple program presented in October 2024 by Danse Danse at Place des Arts, then by the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.
Choreographed by Shahar Binyamini, Bolero X is a new interpretation of Ravel's famous Bolero, in which the well-known theme unfolds in a long, uninterrupted and spellbinding crescendo. This sensual, electrifying work showcases the virtuosity of Ballet BC's performers, accompanied by young dancers from four professional training institutions across Canada: École supérieure de ballet du Québec, École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, The School of Dance (Ottawa) and Arts Umbrella Dance (Vancouver), featuring some 50 performers in a large-scale piece.
This collaboration promises to highlight the talent and virtuosity of the new generation of dancers.
