Succession on the Board of Directors of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec: Caroline Tessier named President
The École supérieure de ballet du Québec (ESBQ) is proud to announce the appointment of Caroline Tessier as President of the Board of Directors, elected unanimously at the November 18 meeting. With a career spanning more than 30 years in communications strategy and public relations in the higher education sector, Caroline Tessier brings valuable expertise and strategic vision to ESBQ's mission. A member of the École supérieure's Board of Directors since 2016, she combines an in-depth knowledge of the institution and higher education issues, making her an ideal ambassador to guide ESBQ in its future projects.
Since 2012, Ms. Tessier has been Director of Communications at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She also directed communications for the Fédération des cégeps for ten years. Holder of an Honours B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Communication Sciences from the Université de Montréal, she is renowned for her ability to mobilize and guide teams in ambitious, structuring projetcs.

She will take office as President of the Board on January 1, 2025 for an initial two-year term.
The École supérieure would also like to pay tribute to Pierre A. Goulet, outgoing President of the Board, for his 16 years of exemplary commitment, including 7 years as President. A passionate music lover and tireless advocate of culture, Pierre Goulet has made a significant contribution to the École supérieure's influence and to the promotion of dance as a vehicle for personal and societal development.
The ESBQ will celebrate his invaluable contribution with an evening of recognition in January 2025.
In addition to the appointment of Caroline Tessier, there have been other important changes on the Board:
• Julie Cousineau, lawyer, becomes Vice-President.
• Gregory Excellent, CPA, Regional Advisor, Groupe 3737, joins the Board as Treasurer.
• Michelle Proulx becomes Secretary.
These appointments mark a new chapter in the governance of the École supérieure, providing renewed impetus to strengthen its influence and impact in the dance world.
