Advanced Cycle
In the advanced cycle, the student’s schedule allows him to concentrate exclusively on his studies on Monday and to devote himself entirely to dancing on Saturdays.
The dance training, in the afternoon, includes the following courses:
- Ballet
- Pointes or boys'
- Contemporary dance
- Physical training
- Repertoire
- Choreographic workshop
- Pas de deux
While most of the courses are conducted in French, many teachers also speak another language, such as English, Spanish and Russian.
In the official curriculum, the academic training, in the morning, is offered by the Pensionnat du Saint-Nom-de-Marie.
The student enrolled in the dance-only curriculum, which consists exclusively of professional training in ballet, has the possibility of taking correspondence courses.
Candidates of all levels may audition.
However, the later a student enters the program, the stricter the technical requirements. Candidates must audition according to their current academic grade level.

Parents will not be allowed to watch the audition. The results are communicated later.
Composed of the artistic director and teaching professions of L’École supérieure, the jury evaluates the following criteria:
- Coordination
- Flexibility
- Musicality
- Expression
- Motivation to pursue a career in dance
The parents of candidate selected by the jury and chose after the Summer intensive, have to communicate with the admission of our school partner, the Pensionnat du Saint-Nom-de-Marie.

All successful applicants to the auditions who intend to enter the Intermediate, Advanced or Superior cycles in 2024-2025 must attend the entire summer intensive program, which is a decisive step in the admission process. The Summer Intensive is the decisive step in the admission process. As students experience the daily training they would receive at L’École supérieure, they are subjected to an in-depth artistic, technical and biomechanical evaluation. At the end of the summer intensive program, they can be admitted for the school year or invited to apply again the following year.
