Alisia Pobega

Alisia Pobega completed her dance training in Montréal at L'École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec. In 2000, Alisia joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and would dance there for over 12 years, rising to a soloist ranking and performing in pieces by a wide range of international choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Nacho Duato, George Balanchine, Fernand Nault, Stephan Thoss, Christian Spuck, Stijn Celis, Didy Veldman and Marco Goeke.

She is currently dancing as an independent artist and works closely with choreographers Kvarcakova-Galdeano, Jane Mappin (Silk, IAmWeAreOne ELLE.S), Andrew Skeels (Remembering Giovanni, On the Path Toward Home, Rose of Jericho, 5th Movement Brahms Requiem) and is a member of The Legacy Project, directed by Margie Gillis.

She has also appeared in several dance films, Vivaldi: Le Violon Magique, Puccini: La Fin de la Voix, Liberamæ, BERTH, and Wrap Me Up. Along with Louis-Martin Charest, she shares the artistic directorship of the dance/film company, LIBERAMÆ performance & films. Their latest projects include short dance films, To Build A Home and Millie, and the development of two future works, Port Hope and La Perte. Together, they have also developed and teach a series of workshops: Presence and Interpretation Method For Dancers.

Alisia teaches contemporary and classical ballet, for established institutions such as Danse à la Carte, l’École supérieure de ballet du Québec, Les Studios (Les Grands Ballets Canadiens), Springboard Danse Montreal, L’École de danse contemporaine de Montréal (EDCM) and The National Ballet School of Canada. Most recently, she spends time in the studio as rehearsal-mistress, rehearsing pieces for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Cas Public, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal (BJM), and Anne Plamondon Productions.
