Marisol Martinez

Since the age of 5, Marisol trained in classical ballet in Argentina with influences from the Russian method. At the age of 9, Marisol joined a group of Argentine folkloric dances with neoclassical influences. This allowed Marisol to participate in several Latin American dance competitions. She met Nancy Bocca, she attended courses with the teacher, offered by the Latin American competitions. Between the ages of 9 and 15, Marisol took flute lessons at the School of Music, Dance and Theater - Constancio Carminio - and Argentine folkloric dance lessons.

At the age of 16, she obtained her first degree as a classical ballet teacher and at the age of 19, Marisol moved to Rosario and continued her studies as a teacher of Argentine folkloric dances and continued to take classical ballet classes. She got her first contract as a teacher for children.

Once in Montreal, Marisol continued her journey in classical ballet by taking classes in several schools: École Supérieur de ballet du Québec, École de danse Louise Lapierre, Studio danse Montréal, Académie de Ballet métropolitain de Montréal.

She explores different dance methods such as the Ceccechi technique and the Sylveira technique as well as the PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique). Her approach: to take the best of each method and bring it forward to explore different textures and colors in dance. Today, Marisol continues her studies in dance education at L'École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec. She teaches in the recreational division to adults and teenagers. She also teaches classical ballet at Ballet Hop for the beginner and advanced intermediate levels to adults.
