9 students from l'École supérieure de ballet du Québec taking part in Ballet BC's triple program presented in October 2024 by Danse Danse at Place des Arts, then by the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Choreographed by Shahar Binyamini, Bolero X is a new interpretation of Ravel's famous Bolero, in which the well-known theme unfolds in a long, uninterrupted and spellbinding crescendo. This sensual, electrifying work showcases the virtuosity of Ballet BC's performers, accompanied by young dancers from four professional training institutions across Canada: École supérieure de ballet du Québec, École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, The School of Dance (Ottawa) and Arts Umbrella Dance (Vancouver), featuring some 50 performers in a large-scale piece.

This year, the École supérieure's annual show paid tribute to Ludmilla Chiriaeff in the presence of distinguished guests, including the Minister of Culture and Communications, Mr. Mathieu Lacombe, our national poet Gilles Vigneault, and members of Madame Chiriaeff's family. Nearly 2000 spectators immersed themselves in the inspiring world of our school's founder, Ludmilla Chiriaeff, with choreography by Fernand Nault, Jean Grand-Maître, Anne Plamondon and Ludmilla Chiriaeff, and excerpts from iconic works such as Swan Lake and Carmina Burana. The technical virtuosity and interpretive quality of the young members of the professional program were on full display as they paid tribute to the vision and immense legacy of this great lady of dance.

An exceptional encounter between graduates of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec's professional program and renowned choreographers who, together, create original solos, the show Un finissant, un chorégraphe symbolically marks the passage to the professional world. This year, our 12 graduates shone on stage! Each of them revealed a facet of his or her personality through solos with very different aesthetics. It was also an opportunity to discover four pieces created by students in the Advanced Cycle as part of the Apprentice Choreographers Project.
